"Give people what they need to make an informed call on a supplement — without the marketing spin or the hidden financial incentives that usually come with it."
— Supplements Mag team
Why This Needs Fixing
The supplement industry is huge and loosely policed. A label can claim to "support immunity" or "boost energy" without much in the way of proof that it does either — the bar is usually "technically defensible," not "actually true at this dose." That leaves a lot of room for products to say more than they can back up.
Most people end up relying on brand marketing, influencer posts, or review sites that are quietly getting paid to rank the thing they're reviewing. Genuinely independent analysis is harder to find than it should be. That's the gap we're trying to fill.
What We Actually Do Differently
1. Nothing here is for sale
We take standard affiliate commissions on some links, and we disclose that openly — but it plays no role in how a product is scored or where it lands. A product's position on this site is earned by what's in it, not by what it pays us.
2. Evidence first, opinion second
Scores are built from published research, third-party lab data, and a consistent set of criteria — not from taste, popularity, or a gut feeling. We're checking whether the evidence actually supports the claim, at the dose the product delivers.
3. We show our work
Our scoring criteria, how each factor is weighted, and the bar for inclusion are all public. Nothing about our process is kept behind closed doors, because we don't think "trust us" is a reasonable ask without it.
4. Scores aren't set in stone
Research moves, testing standards improve, and our understanding of specific ingredients changes. We revisit scores regularly rather than publishing once and forgetting about it — a product that rated well a few years back gets checked against what we know now.
5. Plain language, on purpose
We write for someone smart who isn't a biochemist. If we can't explain why a product scored the way it did in plain English, we haven't actually understood it well enough yet.
Where You Come In
Make evidence-based choices, and pass along the reviews that actually helped you. Spot something wrong? Tell us through our contact page — we'll look into it. Bought something through one of our links and want to share how it actually worked out? That feedback feeds straight into our outcomes data.
Better decisions, made with better information — that's the whole point of this site.
